Acoustic night Taunton, 24th March, with Louise Distras + B-Sydes + Bear and the Woods + Nick Parker

Fuelled By Cider presents a night of acoustic music at The Winchester Arms, Taunton, but not just any old acoustic music…

Rising female punk singer Louise Distras returns to Taunton for the second time following her successful gig at the Winch in 2015. Powerful, relevant and fiercely independent, Louise is no ordinary acoustic act. Fresh from recent UK tour, European dates and standout shows such as Rebellion Festival, this is a really exciting booking for the Winch.

B-Sydes (AKA Ben Sydes) became a solo singer-songwriter after becoming disillusioned with the unpredictability of playing in band after band. He decided to strike out on his own in 2009 and is yet to look back. He has shared stages with the likes of Frank Turner, Sam Duckworth, Chris T-T, Dave McPherson, Walter Schreifels, Ben Marwood, Jim Lockey and the Solemn Sun, Oxygen Thief, Rob Lynch, Gaz Brookfield and The Retrospective Soundtrack Players to name a few. His debut album ‘Constant Fictions’ is available from http://www.b-sydes.co.uk/

Bear & The Woods will be playing a solo set of his much lauded material. Described as ‘Folk ‘n’ Roll’ with a range of indie and folk influences, this is sophisiticated and intelligent stuff.

Nick Parker comes to the Winch with an impressive back story and back catalogue, having recorded and toured with various folk / rock outfits over the last couple of decades. Tonight performing simply under his own name, you can expect a wide range of material including tracks from his albums ‘The King Of False Alarms’ and ‘Angry Pork and the Occasional Bird’.
